Description

The 2nd-generation iPod Shuffle was announced on September 12, 2006 by Apple, which called it "the most wearable iPod ever" - designed for exercisers who need a very small, very light iPod with few features but enough storage to keep the music going during a workout, it also features a large and very reliable clip allowing it to be worn on lapels, cuffs, necklines and so on, all of which is very useful when wearing active clothing such as running tops and cycling jerseys.

Apple called it the Shuffle because of its shuffle feature. It has the traditional iPod circular control pad on the front, which is a clever and simple way to navigate through the stored media, but can be irritatingly fiddly during exercise. So, Apple added the shuffle - if the song playing isn't a good match for your tempo or cadence, simply give the Shuffle a shake and it'll select a new song at random from your playlist (and you can switch the shuffle off, too, so it won't do it accidentally when you don't want it to).

1GB doesn't sound huge today when there are numerous portable music players with 64 times or more as much. However, if we assume an average file size of about 3.28MB per song (based on typical "radio edit pop song" duration), a gigabyte is enough for about 300 songs - and if you don't mind paying for iTunes, you'll be downloading AAC files which are even more compressed than MP3s, allowing you to fit even more on. Either way, unless you're running ultramarathons or riding a Grand Tour, 1GB is plenty enough for most users.

Adding or removing songs is a doddle with the Shuffle thanks to the supplied dock. Simply connect it to your computer using the USB cable, plug the Shuffle in and you can update your library quickly and easily - it'll work just as easily with a Windows computer as an Apple, too.

The matching earphones for this Shuffle have been lost, but unlike later models the 2nd Generation is compatible with all 3.5mm earphones so you don't need to go and spend a packet on an official Apple pair. As already stated, it does include the original dock, which is an essential for this model as it doesn't have a USB socket. It has been tested and was found to be in full working order as well as excellent cosmetic condition - there are very light scratches to the two plastic parts, which can only be seen on close inspection, but the brushed aluminium is in superb, unmarked condition. The navigation pad and clip both work perfectly.

Returns

Change of Mind

Alongside the care provided by the Inpatient Unit, Living Well services and Hospice at Home teams, patients can access: patient and family support; lymphoedema care; complementary therapy; medical and pain outpatient clinics; and advice from the clinical nurse specialists within the Specialist Palliative Care Home Team. Programmes are practical, holistic and tailored to the individual patient, family member or carer and may also include rehabilitative support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychological support.

It will cost £10.5 million in 2021/2022 to run services, which are provided free of charge to patients and their loved ones. Contracted services from the NHS are budgeted at £6.98 million, meaning that £3.52 million needs to be raised through donations, fundraising activities and trading. The Charity is extremely grateful to the local community for the continual dedication, commitment and generosity they show in supporting towards meeting this target.
