Description

Released in 2016 as an "entry level" sat-nav featuring a stripped-down selection of features compared to more expensive models, the TomTom 42 has all the functions a satellite navigation needs to offer to be worthy of the name and is still supported by the manufacturer, but lacks things such as traffic warnings - which are available via RDS car radios or smart phones anyway, making the 4.3-inch touchscreen satnav a real bargain (note that TomTom measure their screens horizontally for some reason - if measured diagonally like everyone else does it, it's 5 inches).

It has complete maps of all of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, with free uploads available from TomTom's websites to keep the database up to date on road layout changes (overseas maps are also available, though usually for a small cost), and thanks to the 8GB internal memory providing plenty of storage space there's no more fiddling about with the tiny Micro SD cards used by most rival manufacturer's satnavs!

One of its most useful functions is Advanced Lane Guidance, which provides a diagram of the correct lane when approaching junctions and roundabouts - very handy indeed when driving routes you don't know with complicated changes! It'll also tell you your average and current speed, as well as warning you about upcoming speed cameras (not that you ever need to be warned about those, of course, model citizen that you are). No need to worry if English (or American, Irish, New Zealand or Australian English) isn't your first language, either - you can set on-screen and voice guidance information to Spanish, Mexican Spanish, French, Croatian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Magyar, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Slovak, Finnish, Swedish, Turkish, Flemish, Estonian, Greek, German, Danish, Czech, Catalan, Bulgarian or Afrikaans - and if you don't like the voice guidance voice, you can pick from any of hundreds available for free download.

Like all TomToms, finding your route is simple. Using its GPS receiver, the device will automatically determine your location; you then simply type in the name or postcode of where you want to go and it'll select one or more routes, allowing you to choose the one which best suits you - based on estimated time of arrival, distance or other factors, with voice guidance for when you can't take your eyes off the road to glance at the screen. You can even enter places you'd like to see along the way and it'll create a route taking you there before continuing to your destination, or find petrol stations, services, cafes and so on along your route - and places to park when you get there.

This example is supplied with a USB cable for easy connection to your car's power socket (you can buy adaptors to plug into the cigarette light if you have an older car without USB sockets) and a UK-type mains adaptor allowing it to be charged up by plugging it into a wall socket - like all the mains-powered electrical items we sell, it's been professionally PAT tested and was certified safe. It's also been bench tested and was found to be in full working order: the screen is responsive and all features and functions operate correctly. Please note that, while the battery both charges and holds a charge, we don't know how many charging cycles it's been through and as a result cannot guarantee life or that it will power the device for the full two hours stated by the manufacturer when not plugged in.

It's in excellent condition without any cracks or scratches to either the screen or the shell, though there is a very light scuff on the back. It is not supplied with original packaging or manual, but in addition to the USB cable and mains adaptor it includes a reversible suction cup-type windscreen mount, allowing it to be easily adjusted to provide the driver with a clear view.

Some low-value items will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class. Some items of higher value are sent by Royal Mail Signed For or Special Delivery, which require a signature. If you are not present at the time of delivery, a card will be left instructing you to arrange a redelivery, or to collect your order from the local sorting office.

Change of Mind

If when you receive your order you are not completely satisfied, you may return the items to us within 30 days for a refund. Returns will be processed within three working days once the goods have been received by us.

Items must be returned to us in the same condition as they were received by you. This includes, but is not limited to: original packaging, original boxes, packaging materials, manuals, blank warranty cards, accessories and documents. We reserve the right to refuse a return or deduct an amount for lost value where the item is returned in a different condition.

Around 4,000 patients are cared for each year at the Hospice in Cambridge, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes via the Arthur Rank Community Team. This care supports people to improve their quality of life and fulfil their end of their life choices.

Alongside the care provided by the Inpatient Unit, Living Well services and Hospice at Home teams, patients can access: patient and family support; lymphoedema care; complementary therapy; medical and pain outpatient clinics; and advice from the clinical nurse specialists within the Specialist Palliative Care Home Team. Programmes are practical, holistic and tailored to the individual patient, family member or carer and may also include rehabilitative support, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and psychological support.

It will cost £10.5 million in 2021/2022 to run services, which are provided free of charge to patients and their loved ones. Contracted services from the NHS are budgeted at £6.98 million, meaning that £3.52 million needs to be raised through donations, fundraising activities and trading. The Charity is extremely grateful to the local community for the continual dedication, commitment and generosity they show in supporting towards meeting this target.
